Yesterday after we left the church of the multiplication we drove north to Banias Nature Reserve the site of Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus asked his disciples ‘who do you say that I am?’ We saw the spectacular Banias waterfall in full flow due to all the recent rain. But we were blessed by blue skies.
Then we drove back to near Galilee for a sumptuous lunch of St Peter’s fish. On our table Arthur was the one whose fish was graced with a coin in its mouth.
In the afternoon we took a beautiful quiet boat ride on Galilee, a very powerful experience for many of us.
Our afternoon was completed by a visit to the church of the Beatitudes, where, in the late afternoon sunlight we heard together the whole of the sermon on the mount.
After some rest back at hotel, we enjoyed drinks together before sharing in our evening meal.
A very full but wonderful day. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.
