I don’t believe it! I promise yesterday to give up moaning for Lent and today it snows: the weather event most likely to make me miserable. Very funny, God, is this some kind of test?
Okay, here’s me being positive: ‘snow makes the place look pretty’, ‘snow means I get to stay in by the fire’, ‘the dog thinks snow is the best thing ever’ and ‘snow is lovely when you can ski on it’. Um… will that do?
At least all this being cheerful will make me live longer. New research shows that people with a cheerful, positive outlook on life outlive the moaning minnies. Nauseating isn’t it? Oops, cynicism is dangerously close to complaint.
